Hal Yang Harus Diperhatikan Dalam Membuat Undangan (INVITATION)

Written Invitations
There are two kinds of written invitations :
a.       Formal Invitations
b.      Informal Invitations

1)      Making Invitations
a.       Would you like to … go for a walk before dinner?
b.      How about … going camping next weekend?
c.       What about … visiting art galleries in this toon?
d.      Would you be interested in … studying English with me?

2)      Accepting Invitations
a.       I’d be delighted
b.      I’d like that very much
c.       That would be very nice
d.      Yes, I would love to
e.       Sure, that sounds like fun
f.       Sure, that sounds great

3)      Dedining Invitations
a.       That you for asking but …
b.      I’d love to but …
c.       That would be nice but …
d.      Thank for asking but …
e.       I have too much to do

4)      Avoiding Invitations
a.       I’ll have to think about it and let you know
b.      I don’t know what my plans are yet let me get back to you
c.       I;m not sure if I can
d.      I’ll let you know soon / tonight / tomorrow

Here is a list of do’s and don’ts to remember when writing formal invitations :
  1. Use the host’s full name. The person’s title goes on the second line.

·         Requests the pleasure of your company at …
·         Requests the honor of your presence at …
·         Cordially invites you to …
·         Invites you to join us (less formal)
  1. Explain the details of date, time, and place with words instead of number

v  At half past six o’clock
  1. Addresses should be written out unless the number cannot be written in a few words. Avoid using any numerals other than phone numbers.
